Unfortunately this component is not specified, nothing is written on it.

Surprisingly it looks like an Inductor, when I zoomed in. So, what does that mean??? Since resístance is 0 it Looks that there is not simple break in the component. Whether its magnetic attribute is still ok is difficult to say.

 

What leads me to the beginning of the fault finding process.

Why the processor is not giving any sign of being powered (sound, display info) anymore?

Still a bad connection from batteries to processor?

 

 

 

 

 

The secret is disclosed - the component shown above is the L2 Inductor, toroidal, 1mH.

As shown in the HP-41C/CV/CX Common Board Component Location Diagram.

Thus I can assume, the coat is broken, but the inner part of the component is still ok. I put isolation tape around the Inductor L2 and bend it back to its original position.
